CLG Naomh Adhamhnáin/St. Eunan’s GAA

On Monday 28th June, the death took place of Joseph “Dodo” Winston.  Joe served the club with talent and warmth both on and off the pitch. Whilst also representing Donegal at Senior level with distinction. He will be forever remembered by many as a true club legend. Everyone at CLG Naomh Adhamhnáin would like to express their sincere condolences with all of the Winston family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

The Brian Mc Cormick Sports All-County League continued at the weekend with a trip to Bundoran. The men secured a great win over Realt na Mara with a score line of 1-7 to 1-15, Ronan Mc Geehin with the goal. They will welcome Cloich Cheann Fhaola to O’Donnell Park on Sunday. The Reserve/Division 1B game did not go ahead.

The Division 4 team were beaten by Naomh Padraig, Muff on Sunday with a score line of 2-10 to 4-10. Russell Forde and Matthew McGovern with the goals. Hard luck to Peter and Adrain and the team. The Division 5 North/Junior team had a great victory over the men from Termon with a score of 1-15 to 1-5. Well done to Ciaran, Dwyer and the team.

The Senior Hurlers continued their unbeaten league run with a hard fought two-point win away to MacCumhaills. A strong last quarter saw us outscoring them by six points to one to get the two points. Conor O’Grady and Matt Ahern were outstanding, with 8 and 3 points, respectively. Brian McIntyre attacking from wing half back, Brendan Horgan in defense and Thomas Crossan at wing forward also stood out. MacCumhaills main scorers and performers were Sean Curran, Conor Griffin and Lee Henderson. Goal was scored by Fintan Griffin just after half time.

The Senior Ladies will play Buncrana this Sunday in O’ Donnell Park. Huge congratulations to Sinead Mc Intyre who has been appointed as Donegal County Minor captain for the coming year. This is true recognition for Sinead’s hard work and commitment to the game over the years. Well done also to Shauna Higgins, Alisha Tobin, Sophie Mc Feehily, Ciara O Donnell and Precious Aduaka who have made this year’s panel. The team had their first competitive match of the season against Sligo in a friendly on Saturday before their championship opener against Derry on July 7th. Good luck to Sinead and the girls for the season ahead.

Camogie training will take place for U12/13 on Tuesday 6pm and Friday 6.30, U14 is on Monday at 7pm and U16/Minor/Senior takes place on Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm. All new players are welcome to join.

The Century Complex Sunday Morning Academy continues to take place each week for 4–10-year-olds at 11am. Thanks to Ollie and Dale Farm for the ice creams on Sunday. €520 was raised which will go towards new equipment for underage teams. Thanks to all involved. A big thanks to Mark, Chantelle and Therese from the Century Complex who called to see the academy and the kids on Sunday, thanks for their continued support of the Sunday Morning Academy.
